.editorial

It was my birthday at the start of last month, the day issue 35 went online as it happens. Nicely book-ended by Citycycling's 3rd birthday with this very issue as we hit number 36. In this last birthdayed month I've taken to the streets with my (new, for my birthday) camera after taking pictures of my (new, for my birthday bike frame) to build up some images for the magazine.

I've started commuting earlier and making the time to stop and actually watch people making their way to work. And we haven't half grasped health and safety particularly strongly in this country, with hi-vis jackets and vests, and plastic helmets abounding. At least 75% of my pictures see people adorned this way - which compares very starkly with a recent trip to Paris (which was documented here).

Who is right? Who is wrong? Is anyone? Is this editorial going anywhere?

Erm, no, I'm not sure. Oh, and to maintain the randomness, the image above has nothing to do with anything I've just said, but I like it, and it summed up a nice summer lunchtime to me.

Happy Birthday to Us.
