Traffic
Jammed
Jamming
Traffic

That gap's wide enough
Just
But then closed by the taxi driver
Because he must
I'm cycling
Therefore the enemy

Perhaps being blocked
Stopped by the traffic's sheer weight
As everyone left early
To avoid being late
Perhaps he feels that all
Should join in the fate
So cyclist
Thou shalt not pass

Except I do
On his right
His knuckles white
As he grips the wheel

Why
When I stop at red
Don't filter left of buses
For fear of being dead
Leave the pavements to the peds
Beam out lights white and red
Do I encounter such anger?

Because
I'm a cyclist

That's all

Well, that and the fact
That they are stuck
And they put it down to luck
Or sheer weight of traffic
Or cyclists going slowly
Or...
Or...
Or them?

And I might be home
Quicker than them
But I wouldn't have been
If there hadn't been so much traffic

Do you see?
