.canadian cyclist strikes back!
No,
not at Lady Sharples... But this was definitely a
cyclist who had had enough, and after a lengthy confrontation
he even managed to make the Canadian news.
The
driver of an SUV had tried to make an illegal right
turn, almost taking out the cyclist in the process,
who started shouting at the driver. The car continually
tried to make the turn, but incensed, the cyclist
moved every time to block the path. As an audience
gathered someone filmed the encounter.
A
passerby tried to calm the cyclist down, at which
point the driver decided to make a run for it, but
he was promptly stopped by two cycle cops
and given a ticket for the illegal turn. You've got
to love the irony...

.funding boost for english cycling
Good
news for cycling in England with the announcement
of a new allocation of funding to Cycling England.
The organisation was set to receive £10m over
year for the next three years to use towards cycling
projects.
However
that funding has been boosted by the news that over
that period an astonishing extra £110m is to
be made available. Some were disappointed that the
amount wasn't more (apparently £250m had been
requested) but the extra cash is going to go towards
creating more flagship cycling demonstration towns
and a raft of initiatives can now see the light of
day.
