One
hour later, despite the lack of mains power, Moeller
had managed to get the email service working by reversing
the polarity on a Schmidt hub from the omnipresent
Herr Braun's T-400 Fahrrad Manufaktur bike.
"We
can now access mobile coding and message relay systems
with this internet programme. Every text message contains
an invisible signature that my Mastlog™ programme
can access. Even the police aren't aware of this.
They think a text message is just the words that appear
on the screen. Fools!"
Linda
Wallender looked admiringly at Moeller. She hadn't
really understood a word he had said, but the fact
was that by steadily rotating the dynamo on the front
wheel of Herr Braun's bike, they were somehow getting
the internet. It was a bit grainy and in black and
white but it worked.
"Doctor
- can I tell you that you are a genius?"
"You
are not the first woman to tell me that..."
There was a 'ping' as a message came in.

Another
junk mail or...? Wallender looked over his shoulder.
The message was short with a link to a video.

"If
he can fit that old tech Nano motor then the M7 hub
is easy. Is that him in the video? It says on the
comments 'nice work Tony'. Maybe Der Bromptonaut is
a man with two names?"
