This
is my beloved hack bike. It is used and abused. Kept
going out of cheap, secondhand parts (where possible)
and treated to a regular brine wash. I'm just about
to use it for my first audax (which I think is either
stupid or brave considering it's a double and I'm
not used to long rides). I bought the bike originally
from e-bay for the princely some of £40.
Another
£40 later and I have a donor bike to use for
parts. This donor bike was the source of the chain
set and the dual pivot breaks and eventually, when
I have built them, the rims for a spare set of wheels.
Of the three bikes this is the most practical and
probably the one I couldn't live without as I depend
on it everyday through the grimiest of whether. It
is not sporting and nice Smart Owl rechargeable lighting
system and as of tonight a rack and computer for the
audax. Unfortunately the aero-bars have had to go
to accommodate the lights.
